As a Channel Solutions Engineer, you will be the main point of contact for Aeris’ Channel Service Partners; cellular network and service providers using Aeris’ IoT-Accelerator platform. You will be responsible for managing and growing strategic relationships, understanding the technical needs of our customers, and ensuring the smooth deployment and operation of Aeris IoT solutions. Your role is critical in driving the success of both Aeris and our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Relationship Management
- Build strong, trusted relationships with cellular network providers, understanding their business objectives and ensuring they derive maximum value from Aeris’ IoT-A platform.
Technical Account Oversight
- Act as the primary technical liaison between the customer and internal Aeris teams (e.g., engineering, support, product) to ensure the successful implementation of our IoT solutions.
Platform Expertise
- Become a subject matter expert on Aeris' IoT-A platform, understanding its architecture, functionality, and integration points to provide technical guidance and strategic advice to customers.
Sales Support
- Provide sales support as the technical expert during the sales process, provide in-depth knowledge of all services offered on Aeris’ IoT-A platform. Guide customers through technical evaluations, proofs-of-concept, and architectural planning. Lead tailored product demonstrations and roadmap reviews to showcase how Aeris' solutions support and secure large-scale IoT deployments.
Solution Delivery & Optimization
- Oversee the scoping and end-to-end delivery of Aeris solutions, ensuring they meet customer requirements and performance standards.
Technical Enablement & Training
- Provide technical onboarding, training, and ongoing support to customers, ensuring they are fully equipped to leverage the functionality and security features of the IoT-A platform to its fullest potential. Deliver comprehensive guidance that empowers customers to effectively utilize the platform while maximizing its benefits.
Strategic Account Planning
- Collaborate with sales and customer success teams to identify expansion opportunities, upsell services, and support renewals. Develop strategic account plans to drive adoption and increase the lifetime value of the relationship.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the product management and engineering teams to provide feedback on customer needs, contribute to product roadmap discussions, and ensure that the platform evolves to meet market demands.
Reporting & Insights
- Provide regular status updates, performance reports, and insights to customers, outlining key metrics, usage patterns, and areas for optimization.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, telecommunications, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience
- Experience working with large-scale IoT deployments in a carrier or service provider environment.
- 5+ years of experience in a technical account management, customer success, or solutions engineering role.
- Strong background in consultative solution selling, technical sales support, or sales engineering working with cellular network providers ideally in the IoT space.
- Experience with cybersecurity platforms or concepts like SASE, SSE, and ZTNA are a plus.
Technical Skills
- In-depth knowledge of 2G, 3G, 4G (LTE), and 5G cellular technologies, including NB-IoT and LTE-M. Familiar with 3GPP standards.
- Familiarity with cellular core network types (e.g., CS/PS, EPC, 5GC) and the network elements interact.
- Understanding of IP network fundamentals
- Capability to produce technical documentation, solution architectures, and training materials for internal teams and customers.
- Experience with SIM and eSIM technologies, including remote provisioning, profile management, and lifecycle management. Understanding of GSMA SGP standards.
- Ability to understand the end-to-end communication flow from the cellular IoT device to the backend IoT application server
- Proficiency in diagnosing connectivity issues, latency problems, and optimizing network performance for cellular IoT devices
- Experience programming cellular modems or modules is a plus (e.g., AT commands, scripting)
- Skills in API integration and development
- Experience with integrating cloud-based IoT solutions with cellular network services for enhanced capabilities.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity platforms, frameworks, and concepts such as SASE, SSE, Zero Trust, and security principles.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
- Fluency in German, Dutch, and/or French would be ideal.
