About the Role

We are seeking a skilledLegacy Systems Specialistto address challenges arising from running legacy applications on unsupported Microsoft operating systems. These systems introduce elevated security vulnerabilities, as highlighted in PEN tests and cybersecurity audits, and pose operational risks during updates due to limited expertise.

The successful candidate will collaborate with end users and application experts to:

1. Upgradethe operating systems while ensuring legacy applications function seamlessly.
2. Propose and implementfully supported replacement applications where necessary.
3. Isolatelegacy applications to eliminate associated vulnerabilities and ensure network updates do not impact these systems.

Once a solution is identified, the individual will lead its implementation, testing, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess business requirements for legacy applications.
• Develop and execute plans to mitigate risks posed by legacy systems.
• Ensure all solutions meet security and operational standards.
• Document processes and provide clear, actionable guidance for future maintenance.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Expertise inWindows Server 2008–2022.
• Strong understanding ofsecurity vulnerabilitiesand mitigation strategies.
• Experience withAzureand domain structures.
• Proficiency inscripting,Group Policy, and working with legacy software such asFoxProandAccess 97.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to work outside regular business hours when required.
