About the Role:
This role is critical for providing advanced technical expertise and knowledge within the IT team, ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of IT systems and infrastructure within ME+EM.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide third-line technical support to resolve complex and escalated IT issues, including incidents and service requests, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to business operations.
- Take ownership of Cybersecurity and set, maintain and test all IT security standards for ME+EM to mitigate the risk of Cyber-attacks, phishing attacks, malicious code deployment, or any other high level security risks.
- Own the Risk Register ensuring any Technology risk to the business is understood and mitigated against. Manage all security Vulnerabilities through to resolution
- Design, implement, and maintain advanced IT infrastructure and security solutions, including servers, storage systems, networking devices, and virtualization environments, to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance to meet the growth needs of ME+EM.
- Investigate and diagnose advanced software, hardware, and network problems, utilising expert knowledge of Azure, Google Cloud and Hyper-V infrastructure to troubleshoot and identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with second-line engineers, vendors, and other IT teams to resolve escalated issues, providing guidance and expertise as needed.
- Lead and participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and deployments, from planning and design to implementation and post- implementation support.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides, to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide mentorship and training to junior engineers, sharing expertise and best practices to enhance the overall technical capabilities of the team.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, evaluating their potential impact and recommending innovative solutions to
- address business needs.
- Ensure all backup and recovery plans are well documented, tested and well understood by key stakeholders across the organisation
- Organise and carry out Disaster Recovery simulations to test and continuously improve our DR strategy and ensure any risks are mitigated using problem or project management.
Essential skills:
- IT related degree
- CCNA or Microsoft Azure Administrator certified

- Migrating from on-prem AD to Azure AD
- Configuring and deploying Azure Active Directory.
- Deploying and maintaining Mobile Device management systems.
- Developing and implementing Backup & Disaster Recovery strategies.
- Migrating to cloud storage technologies.
- Patch and vulnerability management.
- E-mail security gateway configuration and administration.
- IT Security administration.
- Data Protection principles and their implementation.
