Job Title: Yard Operative
Location: Newry
Job Type: Full-time

About the Role We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of materials, maintaining a clean and organised yard, and assisting with daily operations. A forklift licence is desirable but not essential — training can be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Loading and unloading deliveries safely and efficiently.
  • Organising, stacking, and storing materials in designated areas.
  • Preparing orders for dispatch and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe yard environment.
  • Assisting drivers with loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Performing basic maintenance checks on equipment.
  • Following all site health and safety procedures.
  • Supporting warehouse or production staff as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar yard, warehouse, or construction environment preferred.
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Forklift licence (desired but not essential — training provided).
  • Good physical fitness and ability to lift and move materials safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
