A leading engineering and technology company in Belfast is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to take ownership of electrical design, integration, and system development across a range of innovative, high-performance projects.

About the Role: The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the design and implementation of electrical distribution and control systems across multiple platforms. You'll take responsibility for electrical architecture development, component selection, and integration of high and low-voltage systems. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams - including mechanical, control systems, and production - to ensure all systems are efficient, safe, and compliant with relevant standards.
Key Responsibilities - Senior Electrical Engineer:
Lead the design and integration of electrical architectures, including power distribution and control systems Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, harness layouts, and technical documentation Oversee electrical system design reviews and provide technical guidance to engineering teams Select and specify components, cables, and switchgear for HV/LV applications Support build, commissioning, and testing phases, including troubleshooting and validation Develop and maintain internal electrical standards, documentation, and design processes Mentor junior engineers and provide leadership within the electrical design function
Essential Criteria - Senior Electrical Engineer:
Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Electronic, Control, or related Engineering discipline Minimum 3 years' experience in electrical design or integration engineering Proficiency with electrical CAD tools (EPlan, Zuken, or similar) and 2D/3D CAD software such as AutoCAD or CATIA Strong understanding of LV/HV systems, power distribution, and control systems integration Hands-on experience with testing, fault-finding, and electrical commissioning Knowledge of electrical safety standards and system certification requirements
