Charles River Discovery are excited to be recruiting for a Senior Clinical Commercial Strategy Manager on a full time, permanent basis. Working remotely within the UK, you’ll be forging strong relationships with our Business Development and Client Services teams with some expectation to travel to our Charles River sites and external conferences. 

The Senior Clinical Commercial Strategy Manager will lead the development and implementation of the strategic pricing capabilities for Charles River Clinical Services. You will utilise a deep understanding of how to create and present client proposals within Clinical Services. Using your expertise in the clinical space, you’ll be working closely with our Sales and Client Services teams to strengthen our capabilities and adopt best practices in this area. 

What you’ll be doing:
• Lead the development and refinement of proposals, strategies and pricing models for clinical services, ensuring competitiveness, profitability, and alignment with strategic goals.



• Collaborate with Business Finance, Scientific Operations, and Business Coordination to ensure pricing recommendations are accurate and compliant.



• Oversee the creation and revision of Statements of Work (SOWs), Change Orders, and related commercial documentation.



• Work closely with Sales to provide specific Clinical expertise to ensure we can provided tailored client responses always designed to provide the maximum client impact.



• Serve as a strategic partner in client engagements, supporting proposal development, pricing discussions, and solution design.



• Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality responses to sponsor requests.



• Work closely with Marketing to position Charles River as a primary partner for Clinical services, provide feedback on market trends and strategies and be a thought partner for delivering success with clients



• Work closely with the Sales Development team to improve lead volume, refine client targeting strategies, and enhance lead qualification processes.



• Help shape messaging and positioning for clinical offerings in early-stage sales interactions.



• Develop and deliver training programs for Sales and Client Services teams focused on clinical sales strategies, pricing rationale, and market positioning.



• Create tools and frameworks to improve understanding of Clinical lab sales across the organization.



• Provide feedback and insights to improve commercial practices and client experience across global sites.


Job Qualifications


• Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in biological sciences, business management, or related discipline required; Master’s degree (M.A./M.S.) preferred.



• Significant track record of working within the clinical sector with proven experience of designing and implementing pricing strategies. Further experience within a CRO is highly desirable. 



• Demonstrable client-facing experience is essential.



• Skills:



o Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills
o Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities
o Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment
o Deep understanding of clinical and non-clinical lab services
o Proficiency in CRM systems, pricing tools, and proposal development platforms

Other: Capable of working with a minimum of supervision, able to handle multiple tasks, and effectively prioritize based on departmental goals. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Organizational skills and attention to detail required. Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Ability to work effectively and efficiently to meet deadlines. Understanding of business/sales process required.
