Reception Teacher

ABOUT THE SCHOOL
Prospero Teaching is excited to be working with a warm, inclusive, and welcoming primary school in Tooting, South West London, who are looking for a Reception Teacher to join their fantastic team. This popular one-form entry school has a supportive and forward-thinking leadership team who value collaboration and staff wellbeing. The school is proud of its nurturing ethos and commitment to helping every child and every member of staff reach their full potential. Ongoing training and professional development are actively encouraged, and for the right candidate, there is potential for the role to be extended or made permanent.


CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS
· Location – Tooting, South West London
Position – Reception Teacher
Type of work – Class Teacher – planning, preparation, marking, parents evenings etc
Contract or position start date – 5th January 2026
Duration / Likely Duration – until end of the academic year July 2026
Contract or position end date (if applicable) – July 2026 with a view to extend to the end of academic year 2026/27
Contract type (temp/perm/temp to perm) – Temporary
Full time/part time – Full time
Minimum rate of pay – Minimum rate GBP170 per day (depending on MPS)
Hours – 8:00am – 16:00pm : Mon – Fri (term time only)


EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in EYFS / KS1
· DBS on the Update Service
· Strong knowledge of the EYFS Framework, National Curriculum, and effective assessment practices.
· Proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching that promotes progress and inclusion for all pupils.
· Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
· Commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing, and continuous professional development.
· Collaborative, reflective, and passionate about providing the best start to every childs education


TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
