Let’s care for tomorrow.

Your ambitions. Your dreams. Your tomorrow

Whether it’s aircraft, international business or offshore wind parks, Allianz Commercial has an extensive range of risks covered when it comes to protecting businesses.

We are looking for a Pricing Actuary, Specialty (m/f/d), based in London or Munich.

Your Team

Our Global Pricing Specialty Team is a dynamic group of insurance experts dedicated to navigating through the complex landscape of pricing strategies worldwide. With a deep understanding of the insurance industry's nuances, we craft innovative pricing models that ensure our clients remain competitive in a rapidly evolving Specialty market. The team is located across London, Munich, Bucharest, Chicago and New York.

The Impact You Will Have

Reporting to the Head of Pricing Specialty you will be a business partner to the Allianz Commercial Specialty lines of business areas.  As part of Global Pricing, you will take an active part in guiding and steering the exposures in the portfolio and as part of that will inform appropriate pricing strategies to enable Allianz Commercial to meet long-term profit targets.

You will provide advice and tools that enable execution of these strategies and support in the monitoring of outcomes.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

  • Develop and maintain pricing tools; this involves refinement of the tools through recalibrations and the development of appropriate statistical pricing methodologies and the development of tool specifications to support IT enhancements.

  • Carry out deep-dive profitability reviews (both proactively and in response to concerning leading KPIs). This will involve preparation of the data and analysis of the profitability of individual accounts and/or business segments, as required. Ensure that the results of such analyses lead to meaningful portfolio actions and are reflected in technical pricing models as appropriate.

  • Support underwriters through case pricing of the largest and more complex accounts.

  • Understand market developments globally and ensure that loss trends, both prospective and retrospective, are understood and reflected in our underwriting activities.

  • Establish an excellent working relationship with Underwriting and senior management to ensure their long-term support for technical pricing concepts and pricing tools.

  • Coordination of global, cross-team projects as required.

  • Peer review work from other team members.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • Qualified P&C Actuary (or nearly qualified P&C Actuary with significant P&C experience)

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with great attention to detail.

  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Excel, and experience with coding (SQL or Python an advantage).

  • Experience of commercial lines pricing, ideally large corporate and specialty lines. Including the development and management of pricing tools, preferably for P&C commercial lines. Knowledge of specialty lines (Marine, Aviation, Entertainment) would be an advantage.

  • A basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential applications in business is essential

  • A natural curiosity with an ability to ask probing questions and the tenacity to ensure that those questions lead to appropriate action.

  • Partnering mentality with the ability to build strong working relationships with peers, management, and the business areas.

  • Experience in discussing technical information to a non-technical audience.

  • Strong results orientation with a proven track-record of delivering on-time projects and process improvements.

  • Ability to work in an international environment.

  • Fluent English skills

Why Cyber Security Careers in the UK Are Becoming More Multidisciplinary

Cyber security used to be viewed primarily as a technical discipline: firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection, penetration testing. In the UK today, it’s far broader. Organisations now face complex legal frameworks, ethical dilemmas, human-behaviour risks, communication challenges & usability hurdles. This shift means cyber security careers are becoming more multidisciplinary. From protecting NHS patient records to defending financial services, securing supply chains & safeguarding national infrastructure, cyber security now touches every sector. Employers increasingly want professionals who understand law, ethics, psychology, linguistics & design alongside traditional technical skills. In this article, we’ll explore why UK cyber security careers are expanding in this way, how these five disciplines shape the profession, and what job-seekers & employers need to know to thrive in this new landscape.

Cyber Security Team Structures Explained: Who Does What in a Modern Cyber Security Department

Cyber security has become a top priority for UK organisations of all sizes. From small businesses to financial institutions, healthcare providers, and government bodies, the risk of cyber attack is now a constant concern. Threats are more sophisticated, regulations more demanding, and customers more aware of data privacy than ever before. But defending against cyber threats isn’t simply about having the right tools — it’s about having the right team. A modern cyber security department relies on clearly defined roles and responsibilities to ensure that defences are proactive, incidents are managed swiftly, and compliance is maintained. This article explains the structure of a modern cyber security team, the roles you’ll typically find within it, how they collaborate, and what skills, qualifications, and salaries are expected in the UK job market.
