Job Title: Pastoral Support Worker (Snowdon Village - Bristol Futures)

Actual Salary: £28,859 - £31,111 (CLF Grade C)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full-Time, All Year Round - 37 hours per week 

Provisional Start Date: As soon as possible

Snowdon Village - Bristol Futures Academy are a growing organisation, looking for professional and ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our students’ learning.

The Pastoral Support Worker is the key contact for a cohort of students; this may be a year group or another defined group of students. They are responsible for monitoring the welfare and school experience of their cohort of students and play a key role in identifying safeguarding issues. The postholder will ensure the behaviour policy and the attendance policy is implemented for all students. They will act as a positive role model and ensure that all students have their best chance to thrive.

You will be:

A passionate individual who wants to be a part of transforming education and will make an active contribution to the development of the Cabot Learning Federation and chosen Academy. Able to establish effective relationships with designated students both 1:1 and in groups, utilising specialist and developed skills and techniques to ensure all students make progress in line with their objectives and achieve their potential.
Happy to support young people to develop a wider educational, social, and cultural understanding of life.
A strong communicator with the ability to embrace change and motivate colleagues and students.
Competent in literacy and numeracy (evidenced by GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above, equivalent qualifications and/or experience).
Experienced or hold knowledge of specific learning difficulties such as SEMH, ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia to support the learning of students with such difficulties.

Safeguarding is a key area of this role, and you will be required to act as a Deputy DSL. Candidates will need to be trained in Safeguarding to at least Level 3 or willing to undertake Local Authority Training.

Please note: the ability to attend meetings and students homes is an essential part of this role so a full driving licence and use of vehicle will be required.

Snowdon Village is a multi-site, cross-phase alternative provision that sits within the heart of the CLF. The Snowdon Village sites include The Nest, Engage, Bristol Futures Academy and City School.

Our primary aim is to meet the needs of children and young adults who have social, emotional and mental health issues by offering a suite of alternatives to mainstream school. Members of Snowdon Village may engage with the provision in a variety of ways, from long-term residential care to short-term, part-time alternatives which complement their existing school experience.
