At Trailmix, our players are the reason we exist, and this drives our mission: to create delightful spaces where millions of people can flourish. Our hit game Love & Pies, launched in September 2021, has resonated with millions worldwide and we build free-to-play mobile games that are snackable yet filled with heart, humour, and stories that stick.

We're a focused and highly collaborative team with a big creative spirit. We believe the best games are made when the people behind them feel inspired, supported, and proud of the work they do.

That's why our values sit at the heart of how we work, shaping every decision and creative choice we make.

Trailmix Values

  • We win as one: Success is shared, and collaboration fuels everything we do because great games are never built solo.
  • We are resilient by nature: We adapt and rise stronger each time because every challenge is a chance to evolve.
  • We are powered by our players: Every choice begins with them because when our players thrive, so do we.
  • We are kind and direct:  We speak with honesty and care because clarity and compassion build the trust that makes us better.
  • We stay curious and grow:  We ask, explore, and learn because curiosity keeps our creativity alive.
  • We decide boldly and own fully: We move with courage and conviction because great ideas only matter when we stand behind them.

If you're excited by meaningful creativity, true collaboration, and making games that bring people joy, you'll feel right at home here, too.

The Opportunity

We're seeking a Part-Time Finance & Compliance Manager, working 2 days per week to support our finance operations with accuracy, clarity, and control. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys owning recurring compliance processes across tax, audit, shareholding, and legal coordination — ensuring that all our obligations are met smoothly and on time.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll be working as part of a close-knit finance team that also includes our Financial Controller, Senior FP&A Manager, and People & Finance Advisor. Together, you'll play a vital role in maintaining financial hygiene, audit readiness, and compliance as we continue to grow.

Trailmix operates in both the UK and Germany (Berlin). While UK-based compliance experience is essential, experience with German compliance requirements (particularly around tax and statutory filings) would be a distinct advantage.

    • Deferred revenue recognition
    • Ad revenue and accounts receivable reconciliations
    • FX revaluation and loan reconciliations
    • VAT and intercompany balance net-downs
    • Share-based payments reporting
    • Video Games Expenditure Credit (VGEC) calculation
    • Other month end responsibilities as required

Cap Table & Shareholding

  • Maintain ownership records and filings related to:
    • Cap table and share option schemes (via Carta)
    • Option grants and exercises
    • Confirmation statements and board resolution coordination
    • Share filings and Companies House submissions

Tax Compliance

  • Coordinate preparation and submission of:
    • UK and German Corporate Tax returns
    • VGEC certification process
    • Country-by-country reporting
    • Drafting and tracking of tax loss/profit positions

Audit Readiness

  • Manage ongoing support for annual statutory audits:
    • UK and DE stat accounts preparation
    • Posting audit adjustments
    • Liaising with external providers and auditors
    • Ensuring clear audit trails and documentation

Legal & Commercial Compliance

  • Act as internal coordinator for IP protection:
    • Support external counsel on trademark and copyright management
    • Keep internal records and filings audit-ready

About You

  • You're a qualified (or part-qualified) accountant or compliance professional with a background in finance operations, audit, or tax.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK tax, audit, and statutory compliance is essential.
  • Experience with German financial compliance, especially in a Berlin context, is a plus but not required.
  • Comfortable navigating technical topics and regulatory requirements (UK & EU).
  • Highly organised with a knack for documentation and deadlines.
  • Confident working independently in a flexible, part-time setup.
  • Prior experience in gaming, tech, or startup environments is a plus but not required.

At Trailmix, we care as much about how you work as what you deliver. We believe that when people feel safe, inspired, and proud of what they do  that passion flows directly into our games and ultimately our players feel it.

That means we're looking for someone who:

  • Builds impact through collaboration: You know the best work comes from shared perspectives and collective wins
  • Grows stronger through challenges: You adapt, stay positive, and help others find a way forward when things get messy

  • Keeps players at the heart of decisions: You design, create, and problem-solve with empathy, knowing players are our why
  • Communicates with clarity and care: You give feedback that builds trust, and you listen openly so ideas can flourish
  • Stays curious and lifts others up: You experiment, learn quickly, and share your discoveries generously, raising the bar for the whole team
  • Moves with courage and ownership: You make bold calls when it matters, and you stand by them with accountability

Employers increasingly want professionals who understand law, ethics, psychology, linguistics & design alongside traditional technical skills. In this article, we’ll explore why UK cyber security careers are expanding in this way, how these five disciplines shape the profession, and what job-seekers & employers need to know to thrive in this new landscape.
