AlgoQuant Asset Management - Network Security Engineer

Role Overview

Network Security Engineer – TechOps

We’re looking for a Network Security Engineer to help strengthen and secure our cloud-native infrastructure at the core of AlgoQuant’s research and trading systems. This is a hands-on role focused on securing high-performance environments built on AWS and Kubernetes, where reliability, automation, and security are critical.

You’ll work closely with engineering, operations, and compliance to design and maintain systems that are secure by design—automated, auditable, and built for scale.

We especially value senior candidates who bring deep expertise in cybersecurity but are also comfortable operating across the broader TechOps landscape. If you’re someone who can both spot vulnerabilities and build resilient infrastructure, we’d love to talk.

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong technical skills and sound judgment in fast-moving environments.
  • Experience in/with ZTA, CI/CD pipelines, Infra as Code, AWS, Scripting, Intrusion Detection and Prevention methods and related tooling
  • A hands-on builder with a bias toward automation and a deep respect for simplicity.
  • Someone who thrives in low-ego, high-ownership teams whilst advocating sound security practices across the firm.
  • Openness to working across the tech stack—not just security tools, but core systems and infrastructure.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Core infrastructure is secured with well-defined controls, monitored continuously, and aligned with best practices for high-performance, cloud-native environments
  • Security tooling and workflows are automated, auditable, and integrated into CI/CD and infrastructure pipelines without slowing down development velocity
  • Incident detection and response processes are reliable, rehearsed, and capable of identifying and containing threats quickly
  • Secrets management and role-based access controls are robust, scalable, and consistently enforced across environments
  • You’re a trusted partner to DevOps, engineering, and compliance - able to balance risk reduction with operational efficiency
  • You help shape a security-first mindset across the team by contributing to internal standards, tooling, and knowledge sharing
  • You’ve improved the signal-to-noise ratio in our monitoring and alerting systems, enabling faster and more confident response to anomalies
  • You’ve made measurable improvements to security posture without adding unnecessary complexity or overhead
