Trans-Canada Capital (TCC) is currently seeking a Manager, IT Operations and Cybersecurity to join our Technology team. Reporting to the Director of Technology, the selected candidate will be responsible for leading the team in charge of IT operations and cybersecurity. This role combines technical leadership, close collaboration with internal and external partners, and strategic responsibility for maintaining, evolving, and securing our technology environment.

The selected individual will choose TCC for its collaborative work environment, innovative approach to asset management, the diversity and sophistication of its investment strategies, growth potential, close working relationships across investment teams, and competitive total compensation.

This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of four days per week onsite at our downtown Montreal office.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

  • Supervise an internal team of 3 members dedicated to IT operations (infrastructure, networking, workplace technology).
  • Manage external IT and cybersecurity providers (MSP, specialized consultants).
  • Develop and lead the technology roadmap for infrastructure, cybersecurity, and DevOps automation.
  • Contribute to IT budget planning and ensure proper prioritization of projects under his responsibility.

Infrastructure & Cloud

  • Ensure the stability, performance, and security of the IT infrastructure (VMs, networking, storage, identity).
  • Ensure the effective management of IT assets (hardware and software) while overseeing the configuration, deployment, and optimization of Microsoft 365 services (eg. Teams, Sharepoint, Outlook) to support collaboration, security, and productivity.
  • Implement DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines) for managing the infrastructure of internal development projects (Azure DevOps).
  • Promote best practices in automation, testing, and documentation within DevOps workflows.

Cybersecurity

  • Define and continuously improve the organization’s cybersecurity framework in alignment with internationally recognized cybersecurity standards.
  • Oversee vulnerability assessments, incident response plans, and security audits.
  • Guide IT governance practices, including access management, policy enforcement, and security awareness.
  • Promote employee awareness around cybersecurity and support governance initiatives (policies, data classification, access control, etc.).

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant IT experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • University degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Considered an asset: Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) and/or technical certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365).

Skills & Competencies

  • Inspirational and compassionate leadership, along with strong skills in managing external partners.
  • Proven ability to structure, prioritize, and deliver projects in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment requiring strong change management sensitivity.
  • Demonstrated experience in IT operations, cybersecurity, and DevOps management, ideally within the financial or investment sector.
  • In-depth mastery of the Microsoft ecosystem for infrastructure administration and cybersecurity (Azure, M365, Entra ID, Intune, Purview, Defender, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge of international standards for establishing, maintaining, and improving an Information Security Management System (ISMS).
  • Considered an asset: Knowledge of and interest in the financial sector.
