Overall Purpose and scope of the job

To ensure the required hygiene and cleanliness standards are fully maintained throughout the bakery site, both internally and externally.

Key Objectives

To ensure the daily cleaning schedule is fully adhered to and followed

To provide a deep clean service to required designated areas on a weekly basis

Key Responsibilities and Activities

·         Operational duties:

·         To complete all washing and cleaning duties as required by the cleaning schedule

·         To tidy and maintain the cleanliness of the wash up and equipment area

·         To wash all mixing bowls, trays and small equipment as required

·         To stack clean trays, bowls and equipment correctly for storage after cleaning

·         To ensure all dough containers are correctly jet washed

·         To clean any heavy equipment as directed.

·         To clean daily all walls, doors, floors in communal areas as directed (with exception of bakery/patisserie rooms)

·         To daily clean canteen, toilets and staff changing areas

·         To clean the loading bays and cooling room ensuring no debris remains

·         To remove all waste and store tidily in the correct area.

·         To clean fridges as required.

·         To ensure that all areas of storage are kept clean, tidy, and organized, including shelving and refill containers

Health and Safety duties:

·         To wear the company uniform and maintain the highest level of personal hygiene.

·         To work cleanly, safely and hygienically at all times.

·         To report all faulty equipment and machinery to the Technical Manager.

·         To comply with all legislation regarding the health and safety of food hygiene

·         To ensure all pest control devices are not moved and areas are clean of pest infestation

·         To carry out cleaning duties as and when required .

Skill and Technical Requirements

  • Ideally worked within a food production environment
  • Understands basic food safety and Health & Safety regulations and standards

·         Understands COSHH and has used cleaning chemicals and equipment in the past

Personal Profile

·         Good communication skills able to speak and understand some English

·         Works in a neat and tidy way

·         Flexibility and openness of approach and willingness to work as a team player

·         Highly self motivated and able to use initiative
