HGV Class 2 Driver

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 2 Driver to join our well-established client based in Swindon, Wiltshire.This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent hourly rates, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for long-term growth and progression.

Shifts


  •   Monday to Friday
  •   Start times between 05:00am – 06:00am (until finish)


Rates of Pay


  •   £16.34 per hour based on 40 hour a week, permanent salary £34,000

Day-to-Day Duties


  •   Delivering timber products to commercial and residential customers
  •   Operating and driving Class 2 (Category C) vehicles safely and efficiently
  •   Performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  •   Ensuring all cargo is loaded, secured, and delivered safely
  •   Adhering to all UK traffic laws and site safety procedures
  •   Communicating effectively with dispatch, warehouse, and customers
  •   Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
  •   Assisting with loading and unloading when required


Essential Skills


  •   Valid UK Category C Driving Licence
  •   Minimum of 2 year's experience driving Category C vehicles
  •   Valid CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
  •   No more than six penalty points (minor infringements only)
  •   Good spoken and written English
  •   Excellent timekeeping and reliability
  •   Strong understanding of UK transport laws and regulations
  •   Effective communication and customer service skills


Desirable Experience


  •   Previous commercial driving experience
  •   Experience delivering timber or building materials


Training Provided


  •  Industry related training and ongoing support throughout
