As an Engineering Technician, you will:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of a diverse range of mechanical plant equipment—from loose lifting gear to submersible pumps and fixed motors to ensure ongoing safety and operational integrity.
  • Proactively support clients in meeting compliance requirements by anticipating their needs and guiding them through relevant legislation.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow Engineering Technicians under the guidance of a Senior Operations Team Leader, fostering a strong team dynamic.
  • Utilise electronic reporting tools to deliver prompt, accurate inspection results, ensuring a seamless experience for our clients.

This position is a vital part of our operations, involving hands-on, non-intrusive inspections of plant and equipment across your designated area. What sets this role apart is its variety—you’ll visit sites, gaining access to environments most people never see.

The Engineering Technician role can be physically demanding and may require working at height, working in confined spaces, lifting, and climbing in both hot and cold conditions. It involves exposure to noise and dust, so you need to be happy being in a hands-on environment.

Salary Information

Pay: £35,339 per year.

Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You

  • Make sound, well-informed decisions and take ownership of outcomes with confidence and accountability.
  • Demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills across short-, medium-, and long-term by effectively managing meetings, site visits, and workload allocation.
  • Travel efficiently within your designated area, maintaining punctuality and reliability.
  • Accurately process documentation and carry out general administrative tasks promptly and professionally.
  • Show a proactive attitude toward teamwork, with a willingness to support and step in for colleagues when needed.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience in an engineering environment
  • Full, valid UK driving licence

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant compliance standards, regulations, and procedures related to the inspection of mechanical plant equipment.
