Costello Medical is hiring its first dedicated Cybersecurity Analyst to shape and lead internal cybersecurity operations across a rapidly growing healthcare consultancy. This is a pivotal opportunity to build and manage a new Security Operations Centre (SOC) and define the company’s long-term security strategy.

About the Role
You will be responsible for identifying and mitigating security threats across the organisation, managing incident response, leading phishing simulations, delivering IT security training, and developing internal security protocols and risk mitigation strategies.

As the go-to cybersecurity specialist, you will work across departments and directly with senior stakeholders to embed a culture of strong security hygiene and compliance with industry standards like ISO27001 and CyberEssentials+.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to security threats using SIEM tools such as Microsoft Defender and Sentinel
  • Develop and maintain security playbooks, incident response procedures, and vulnerability remediation strategies
  • Lead phishing simulations and follow-up activities
  • Deliver cybersecurity and data handling training across teams
  • Advise on IT security components of internal projects
  • Drive organisation-wide risk management and data protection practices
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams on regulatory alignment
  • Lead security-focused projects and support certification initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum 2.1) in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years’ professional experience in IT, including at least 1 year in IT security
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure, security tools, and cyber threat mitigation
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences
  • Proven organisational and project management skills
  • Comfortable influencing senior stakeholders and working independently

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering or proposing cybersecurity projects
  • Familiarity with GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, or equivalent privacy legislation
  • Experience managing highly sensitive or confidential data
  • Knowledge of security certifications and compliance frameworks
