🚀 For this role we are seeking an individual who has technical bike knowledge!

👋🏻 Hello, we're Laka

You might not have heard of us yet - that's OK, you've found us now - come and find out more about our journey...

Founded in 2017, Laka set out to transform insurance by connecting passionate cyclists to form a collective and protect their bikes for when things go wrong - a better model for insurance was born. For once people come first in insurance by fairly sharing the cost amongst each other. We exist to rewrite the rules of insurance so it’s something people stand with, not against.

Our model: Laka makes sure everything runs smoothly for The Collective - from exceptionally fast claims, splitting the cost fairly, guaranteeing a maximum price and all the other heavy lifting of a regulated insurance business. For that service, the collective pays Laka a fee relative to the claims in a month.

Take a closer look at exactly what this means and how it works here

What have we been up to since then...?

In a nutshell, we've been very busy! Here are a few of the massive achievements we've had:

🚀 Raised a whopping £22m from amazing investors

🚀 Grown the team to 60 Lakanauts, based across the UK and NL, enabling a choice-based, remote-first way of working

🚀 Launched Laka in a total of 7 countries, essentially helping more people in more places!

🚀 Captured the UK and NL enthusiast cyclist market and expanded into the fast-growing area of e-bikes

🚀 Been awarded 'Best Cycle Insurance Provider' (for the past 6 years in a row - go us! 🥳)

🚀 Opened 3 shiny new offices in London, Bristol & Amsterdam to provide spaces for people to collaborate as they like

🚀 We've also achieved a 5* rating on Google Reviews and Glassdoor - go check us out!

Help us continue to change an outdated industry...

We’re growing real fast on our path to make the Laka collective model the industry standard and we’re expanding across segments, products, and territories. We’re looking for innovative, bold and brave minds to help us build the world’s best insurance company.

🤘🏼 The role

Fulfilment Specialist:

At Laka, we’re transforming bike insurance by building a collective where cyclists support each other. Now, we’re looking for a Fulfillment Specialist to join our team and help manage bicycle replacements across the UK & EU.

This isn’t just a behind-the-scenes role—you’ll be at the heart of our operations, working directly with bike shops, distributors, and suppliers to ensure our members get their replacement bicycles or parts quickly and smoothly after a claim. Your ability to build strong relationships in the cycling industry will be key to making this happen.

What you'll be getting up to:

  • Sourcing & Procurement – Contacting bike shops, suppliers, and distributors to arrange replacement bikes or parts for customers.
  • Industry Relationship Management – Building and maintaining strong partnerships with bike retailers and distributors across Germany, the Netherlands, France, and the UK.
  • Claim Fulfillment Coordination – Calling shops and suppliers when a claim is submitted, securing stock, and coordinating timely replacements.
  • Customer Communication – Keeping customers updated, managing expectations, and ensuring a seamless, positive experience.
  • Sustainability & Salvage – Organising the collection of damaged bikes and working on our salvage program to reduce waste and CO₂ emissions.
  • Quoting & Invoicing – Managing the financial process for bike replacements, ensuring smooth transactions between Laka, bike shops, and suppliers.

Requirements

👉🏻 This role will be a great fit if you:

  • Speak fluent German, Dutch, and/or French (in addition to English).
  • Have a passion for cycling and a good understanding of bike components and brands.
  • Are a natural relationship builder, confident in reaching out to bike retailers and distributors.
  • Love solving problems and going the extra mile to help someone who’s lost their bike.
  • Have strong organisational skills, keeping track of multiple ongoing claims.
  • Are tech-savvy (Google Sheets, Slack, Notion, etc.) or willing to learn.

Organisations now face complex legal frameworks, ethical dilemmas, human-behaviour risks, communication challenges & usability hurdles. This shift means cyber security careers are becoming more multidisciplinary. From protecting NHS patient records to defending financial services, securing supply chains & safeguarding national infrastructure, cyber security now touches every sector. Employers increasingly want professionals who understand law, ethics, psychology, linguistics & design alongside traditional technical skills. In this article, we’ll explore why UK cyber security careers are expanding in this way, how these five disciplines shape the profession, and what job-seekers & employers need to know to thrive in this new landscape.

Threats are more sophisticated, regulations more demanding, and customers more aware of data privacy than ever before. But defending against cyber threats isn’t simply about having the right tools — it’s about having the right team. A modern cyber security department relies on clearly defined roles and responsibilities to ensure that defences are proactive, incidents are managed swiftly, and compliance is maintained. This article explains the structure of a modern cyber security team, the roles you’ll typically find within it, how they collaborate, and what skills, qualifications, and salaries are expected in the UK job market.
