Chaplain

Are you an experienced Chaplain who has worked in a healthcare setting? If so, join Aberbeeg as the Chaplain.

You will provide pastoral, spiritual and religious supports to service users at Aberbeeg in Abertillery. Working part time, 10.5 hours per week you will seek out and respond to the pastoral, spiritual and religious needs in a sensitive and personal basis.

You will have had recent pastoral experience in a local fait or belief setting or equivalent also with chaplaincy experience within a similar setting.

Your responsibilities:

• Build effective working relationships with multi-professional colleagues to ensure smooth flow of communication about the spiritual needs of patients and families.
  
• Identify and seek to address complex spiritual and religious needs in pastoral encounters.
  
• Provide religious support for patients and their families.
  
• Build effective relationships with faith representatives.
  
• Keep up to date with relevant chaplaincy/spiritual care research to ensure pastoral, spiritual and religious care is evidence-based.
  

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• 
  
• Degree or equivalent in subject relevant to Healthcare Chaplaincy
  
• Experience in a similar setting
  
• Recent pastoral experience in a local fait or belief setting or equivalent.
  
• Counselling experience is desirable.
  
• Excellent communication skills
  

Where you will be working:

Location: Aberbeeg, Abertillery, NP13 2DA

You will be working at Aberbeeg, a 12 bedded low secure service for men, ensuring that each person in your care receives an individualised formulation of needs and that the treatment delivered is appropriate.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will devise a collaborative twelve week therapeutic timetable and smart goals for service users, which is then reviewed and changed to reflect the development and achievements made for the next period of care.

Aberbeeg is located within the boundaries of the county borough of Caerphilly, set in 11.5 acres of land with beautiful views of the Welsh countryside.
