Description

Summary

The Department of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at Regis College seeks an Adjunct Professor for the Fall semester specializing in Cybersecurity to teach CYS 230, Hacking and Penetration Testing. This course is an introduction to ethical hacking and penetration testing. Areas of instruction include various tools and vulnerabilities of operating systems, software and networks used by malicious hackers to access unauthorized information. This course also addresses incident handling methods used when information security is compromised. Classes begin September 2, 2025. This course will be taught in person on the Weston, MA campus and asynchronously online. The in-person portion is currently scheduled on Wednesdays 8:00 am-9:15 am.

Essential Functions

  • Teach CYS 230 in hybrid format, with a synchronous, in-person lecture portion and with an asynchronous online portion.
  • Engage with all responsibilities associated with teaching the section: direct oversight of student work, grading, office hours, overall student classroom and academic assessment.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Minimum requirement: An earned MS in Cybersecurity or similar; PhDs welcome.
  • Demonstrated evidence of at least three years prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive classroom learning environment in keeping with the University's commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other STEM faculty in terms of curriculum and assessment.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with academic assessment.
  • Familiarity with the learning management system Moodle is preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to uphold the university’s commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

  • Normal classroom environment, not subject to extremes in noise, odors, etc.
