Account Developer

Role Description

The purpose of this role is for you to build and maintain long-term sustainable trading relationships with a defined panel of brokers. You will be the primary point of contact for these brokers, coordinating Allianz’s proposition to market, and enabling profitable growth of the account in line with branch and team plans.

This is a hybrid role based in our Chelmsford office, with the expectation to be on-site two days per week.

Salary Information

Pay: Circa £35,000 per annum.

Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

About You

In this dynamic role, you will lead broker relationships across the UK, focusing on Chelmsford panels. You'll drive business growth through innovative sales and product strategies while collaborating with Allianz teams to elevate our market presence. With opportunities to engage directly with brokers and promote key propositions, you'll be instrumental in shaping our success and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Below are your key responsibilities, along with the essential and desirable skills needed to achieve these goals:

  • You will manage brokers across the UK, focusing on the Chelmsford regional panel.
  • You will engage with brokers remotely via phone, video calls, and face-to-face meetings in the market.
  • You will develop business through sales and marketing initiatives, campaigns, new product launches, and existing product reintroductions, with your panel of agreed intermediaries.
  • You will liaise with various Allianz teams to raise awareness of business development activities, embracing One Allianz principles.
  • You will fulfill responsibilities set out within the Distribution Framework, ensuring defined sales disciplines are demonstrated.
  • You will promote our accelerator proposition, selling key features and participating in broker events.
  • You will maintain market awareness, monitor changes, and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders.
  • You will manage and appoint intermediaries across our broker segments, ensuring compliance with procedures, authorities, and regulations.

Essential Skills

  • Relationship management, networking, communication and negotiation skills.
  • New Business or Sales Experience
  • Understanding of the customer and broker propositions offered by the Allianz Group.
  • A developing awareness of the UK commercial insurance market.
  • A developing awareness of business regulatory requirements.
  • Experience of managing communication across all stakeholder groups and a wide audience of internal and external audiences.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience of developing business in a intermediated environment is preferable.
  • Working towards a CII qualification preferable.
