DIETETIC TEAM LEAD – Weight Management & Diabetes Prevention – BAND 7

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated dietitian to join NHS Lothian’s Weight Management and Diabetes Prevention Team as a 0.5 WTE Band 7 Team Lead. This post is a job share with the existing 0.5 WTE Team Lead and will work in partnership with a full-time Team Lead to co-lead and operationally manage a large, multidisciplinary team delivering innovative weight management and diabetes prevention services.

The team provides specialist support for adults and children living with overweight and obesity, including delivery of the Child Healthy Weight programme, and the development of obesity medicines pathways. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and delivering these services, provide advanced dietetic clinical support and work closely with local authority partners and wider health and social care teams to support whole-systems approaches to weight management and diabetes prevention.

The successful candidate will lead and contribute to the practice education of student dietitians on placement (A, B and C placements) within the service, and provide clinical supervision and development support for other dietitians and the wider multi-disciplinary team.
