Security AnalystAbout the role you’re considering

The Security Analyst will be tasked with monitoring and responding to security incidents and requests raised through a ticketing system. This role requires collaboration with support teams and the customer security team to resolve tickets, perform remediation activities using work instructions. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of IT systems and be able to operate a ticket management system to accept and resolve tickets. As part of the role, you will develop security skills and knowledge and experience of the security domain.

This role is full time onsite in Barrow In Furness. Working Pattern: The Security Analyst team provides support from 7am to 7pm Monday to Thursday and 7am to 3:30pm on Friday. The normal working week will be 37.5 hours and you will be expected to cover some early shifts or cover some late shifts as part of a team rota.

If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employment checks, including: identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service).

Your role

  1. Monitoring ticket queue: Reviewing assigned tickets, accepting and assessing the requirement to implement actions or activities to resolve and close tickets.
  2. Working to agreed SLAs: Ensuring tickets are accepted and resolved to agreed timescales.
  3. Monitoring team mailbox: Monitoring the team mailbox to review and respond to any requests for support or providing information and assistance.
  4. Project Support: Working with our wider security team to support elements of project delivery, gaining knowledge and experience of security technologies.

Your skills and experience

  1. Good knowledge of IT systems.
  2. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  3. Self-starter, Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  4. Any experience of security in an IT environment would be advantageous or an interest and passion for Cyber Security.
  5. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Your security clearance

To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.
To obtain SC clearance, the successful applicant must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.
Throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.
Some posts are restricted to sole UK Nationals for security reasons; therefore, you may be asked about your citizenship in the application process.
