Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Quality and Safety Engineer on a Permanent basis in Staffordshire.

Role Summary

Reporting to the Quality and Safety Manager, the Quality and Safety Engineer (QA&SE) will be a member of the QESH team and will be responsible for providing quality assurance and health and safety support across the whole business. The QA&SE will principally provide business wide support on quality and safety & health but will also be required to provide a level of support on environment and security matters from time to time. The QA role will cover discussions with customers, setting up of QA systems as required, QA inspections, review and approval of documentation and involvement in designing design and assembly processes. The Safety role will cover risk assessment, systems of work, investigations and the production of policy and procedure. Both aspects of the role will require some travel to site or suppliers as required, the production of documentation, production of metrics and liaison with group companies.

· To ensure the management system is compliant with current standard, regulations, and client requirements

· To ensure policies and strategies meet client requirements and practices

· To contribute and support to the business planning for continuous improvement, efficiency and effectiveness

· To participate and analyse the company audit and assessment processes

· To participate in the personnel development and competency of the QESH team

· To manage and lead all external client and third-party company audits and assessments

· As required play an active role in Imtech HSEQ Steering Group development activities

Requirements

· To have a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role

· To be fully conversant with ISO 9001, 14001, OHSAS 45001

· To have excellent interpersonal skills as success in this role requires continual liaison with employees, the management team, clients and external suppliers

· To be able to prioritise effectively and be capable of simultaneously dealing with conflicting issues

· Full UK driving license with a willingness to travel when necessary

· The ability to gain SC Clearance.

Desirable Requirements:

· To have an awareness and understanding of the automation systems development

· To be conversant with security requirements

· To have an awareness and understanding of the ISO 27001 Information Security Management standard

· To have a broad awareness of Functional Safety related system development

· Safety Qualification – NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent

· Good standard of education, preferably to degree level, with membership of a relevant institute (CQA, IOSH, IEMA)
