Cyber Security Engineer

The Opportunity
National enterprise business is seeking an aspiring Cyber Security professional to join an established Security Operations team as a Cyber Security Engineer. This is a hands-on technical role responsible for designing, enforcing, and operating cybersecurity controls across a complex enterprise environment.

The Role
Working closely with IT Technical Operations, you will ensure security controls are effective, supportable and proportionate to risk. Specifically you will:

• Act as an escalation point for security incidents and support triage and remediation.
• Design and enforce endpoint security controls including encryption and secure configurations.
• Support identity and access management across Entra ID / Azure AD and Privileged Identity Management.
• Own vulnerability management processes and reporting.
• Design and improve security controls based on risk and operational needs.

The Person
With experience in Cyber Security Engineering, Security Operations or Infrastructure Security, you will possess:

• Strong knowledge of endpoint security, identity and access management and vulnerability management.
• Be comfortable working hands-on in operational systems and ServiceNow workflows.
• Have good technical judgement and communication skills.

Experience with the MS security tool stack along with Tenable will be beneficial though not essential. Possessing the right attitude and being able to work independently will be more important to succeeding in the role.
